FALL 2026 CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

TINY TWISTERS CHEER & TUMBLING


Tiny Twisters Cheer & Tumble (18m–3yrs) is the perfect introduction to cheer and tumbling for our
youngest athletes! A parent or guardian must remain with their child during class as little ones explore
basic cheer motions, tumbling fundamentals, balance, coordination, music, and movement through fun
games and engaging activities. This class is designed to build confidence, develop listening and social
skills, improve coordination, and foster a love for movement in a fun, positive, and supportive
environment.

 


RECREATIONAL CHEER

 

CHEER BASICS
Twisters Cheer Basics is our recreational cheer program that introduces athletes to the fundamentals of
cheerleading in a fun, positive, and age-appropriate environment. Athletes will learn motions, jumps,
beginner stunts, basic tumbling, sideline cheers and chants, and performance skills while building
confidence, coordination, teamwork, and athletic ability. The fall season concludes with a special
performance for family and friends to showcase everything they've learned.

 

JUMP & STUNT CLASS
Jump & Stunt (Ages 8+) is designed to help athletes develop strong cheerleading fundamentals through
jump technique, flexibility, strength, and beginner to intermediate stunting skills. Athletes will improve
height, power, and form in their jumps while building confidence and learning proper stunt technique in a
safe, supervised environment. This class is perfect for athletes looking to improve their overall cheer skills
and performance.


COMPETITIVE ALL-STAR CHEER PREP
This class is perfect for our athletes who are interested in competitive cheerleading! Athletes will be
introduced to the exciting world of All-Star cheer in a fun, positive, and encouraging environment. Classes
focus on the foundational elements of an All-Star routine, including dance, jumps, stunts, tumbling,
motions, and performance skills. Along the way, athletes will build confidence, coordination, strength, and
teamwork while developing the skills needed to prepare for our Half-Year All-Star team tryouts. Team
tryouts will take place in December.

 


TUMBLING CLASSES

 

MINI TUMBLING
Mini Twisters Tumbling (ages 3-5) helps preschool athletes develop strength, coordination, flexibility,
balance, and body awareness through fun and progressive tumbling instruction. Athletes will work on
foundational skills such as rolls, bridges, cartwheels, and basic tumbling movements while building

confidence and athletic ability in a safe and supportive environment. This class provides the perfect
foundation for future tumbling, cheer, and acro training.

BEGINNER TUMBLING
Island Beginner Tumbling is a beginner tumbling class that teaches athletes proper technique in a fun,
safe, and encouraging environment. Athletes will build strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence
while learning foundational skills such as forward rolls, backward rolls, bridges, cartwheels, front limbers,
front walkovers, back walkovers, and other beginner progressions. Classes focus on strong
fundamentals, body control, and skill development at each athlete's individual pace.


INTERMEDIATE TUMBLING
Island Intermediate Tumbling is designed for athletes who have mastered beginner tumbling skills and are
ready to progress to more advanced techniques. Athletes will develop strength, power, and proper
technique while working on round-offs, back handsprings, multiple back handsprings, and other
intermediate tumbling progressions. Classes emphasize safe skill development, body control, confidence,
and consistent technique.


BACK HANDSPRING CLASS
Back Handspring Class (Ages 6+) is a skill-focused class designed for athletes working toward mastering
a back handspring. Through drills, strength and flexibility training, and proper technique, athletes will build
the power, confidence, and body awareness needed to safely perform a back handspring. This class is
ideal for athletes learning their first back handspring or refining their technique for consistent execution.

 

ADULT TUMBLE & STUNT
Adult Tumble & Stunt (Ages 18+) is designed for adults of all experience levels who want to learn,
improve, or revisit cheerleading, tumbling, and stunting skills in a fun, supportive environment. Classes
focus on proper technique, skill progressions, and confidence while providing a safe space to challenge
yourself and stay active. Whether you're a former cheerleader or trying something new, this class is a
great way to build skills, meet new people, and have fun. Tumbling and stunting stations will be available,
allowing participants to focus on the discipline that interests them most—or enjoy both!

 

 

RECREATIONAL DANCE


MINI DANCE
Mini Twisters Dance (Ages 3-5) introduces preschool dancers to the fundamentals of movement, rhythm,
coordination, and creativity in a fun and engaging environment. Through music, age-appropriate dance
instruction, and imaginative activities, dancers will develop confidence, balance, flexibility, musicality, and
social skills while fostering a love for dance and self-expression. Dancers will have the opportunity to
perform in a Parent Showcase in December and our Spring Recital in May.


MINI ACRO DANCE
Mini Acro Dance (Ages 3–5) is a fun, beginner-friendly class that combines basic dance movement with
age-appropriate acro skills in a positive and encouraging environment. Athletes will build strength,
flexibility, balance, coordination, and confidence while learning foundational skills such as forward rolls,
bridges, cartwheel progressions, and creative movement through music. No prior experience is required.
Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in a Parent Showcase in December and our Spring Recital in
May.


DANCE FOUNDATIONS
Island Dance Foundations is designed to help young dancers build confidence, coordination, flexibility,
and performance skills through movement, music, and creative expression. Dancers will be introduced to

the fundamentals of ballet, jazz, and basic dance technique while developing strength, balance, rhythm,
and teamwork in a fun, positive, and supportive environment. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform
in a Parent Showcase in December and our Spring Recital in May.


HIP HOP
Island Hip Hop is an energetic and exciting dance class designed to build confidence, coordination, and
performance skills. Dancers will learn age-appropriate hip hop technique, musicality, and choreography
while developing strength, agility, rhythm, and style. Whether dancers are new to hip hop or have
previous experience, this class provides a fun and encouraging environment to move, express
themselves, and grow as performers. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in a Parent Showcase
in December and our Spring Recital in May.


JAZZ
Build confidence, coordination, and performance skills in our energetic jazz class! Dancers will learn
proper technique, flexibility, turns, jumps, and dynamic choreography while moving to fun,
age-appropriate music. Jazz is perfect for developing strong fundamentals, musicality, and stage
presence in a positive and encouraging environment. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in a
Parent Showcase in December and our Spring Recital in May.


BEGINNER ACRO DANCE
Beginner Acro Dance combines the strength and flexibility of acrobatics with the artistry of dance. This
class introduces athletes to fundamental acro skills in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Athletes
will develop flexibility, balance, strength, body control, and foundational dance technique while learning
introductory acro skills such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, bridges, walkovers, and beginner balancing
skills. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform in a Parent Showcase in December and our Spring
Recital in May.

COMPETITIVE ACRO DANCE


ISLAND ACRO DANCE TEAM PREP
Island Acro Team Prep is a developmental training program designed for athletes interested in auditioning
for the Competitive Acro Dance Team or building a strong foundation in competitive acro. Dancers will
develop strength, flexibility, balance, technique, partner skills, artistry, and performance quality while
learning the fundamentals of acro choreography in a positive, team-focused environment.


Practices are held twice weekly to prepare athletes for Competitive Acro Dance Team Evaluations, which
take place midway through the fall season. Following evaluations, athletes will be placed on the
Competitive Acro Dance Team that best supports their continued growth and development based on age,
skill level, technique, coachability, performance quality, and the overall needs of the program. Team
practices and competition preparation will begin following evaluations, and the spring competition
schedule will be released after team placements.

**All classes are one hour in length, with the exception of Tiny Twisters, which is a 45-minute class.**
